Base of a bonnet

19th century Fonds de bonnets
Most of these works come from the Alfred Lescure (1862-1913) collection. He owned one of the finest collections of lace ever assembled
Embroidered bonnets are a very old tradition in France in the line of the " Butterfly Henin " of the Medieval Period.
Motifs are almost always inspired by the local flowers: roses, eglantine, cornflowers, carnation, blindweed, daisy.
